Dog Harnesses & Leashes 6

Upgrade your daily walk with the Lolopaws Travel Series dog harness and leash collection. Designed for active dogs and modern Australian pet parents, our 100% waterproof PVC dog gear eliminates damp fabric, lingering odours, and post-walk laundry forever. Whether you are navigating rainy morning coffee runs in the city, exploring muddy bush tracks, or spending the afternoon at the dog beach, our gear rinses clean under tap water and wipes dry in 10 seconds.

Featuring ergonomic, no-pull harnesses that protect your dog's neck and versatile multi-way hands-free leashes for cross-body walking or running, the Travel Series delivers complete walking control without compromising on style.

Harnesses for Large Dogs That Pull

Our no-pull harness comes in sizes XS to L, with size L fitting chest girths of 70–100cm: most Labradors, Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds. Front and back D-rings let you clip the 6-Way Lead to both points for dual-point control, and the top handle keeps a strong dog close at crossings. Not sure which size? Read our guide to no-pull harnesses for large dogs, or jump to the breed guides for Labradors & Goldens, German Shepherds, Border Collies & Kelpies and Staffies.

Dog Harnesses & Leads Australia – Waterproof Walk Gear Designed to Make Living Pawsible

At LOLOPAWS, we believe every walk should feel easy, for you and your dog. Our Travel Series walk gear is built for real Australian life: rainy mornings, sandy beaches, muddy bush tracks and busy café strips.

Every harness and lead uses a double-layer construction, a strong polyester core sealed in a waterproof PVC coating, so it won't soak up water, mud or smells. Rinse it, wipe it, and it's ready for the next walk.

How to Choose the Right Harness and Lead

For dogs that pull:
Choose a harness with a front D-ring. Clipping the lead at the chest gently turns your dog back towards you when they pull.

For hands-free walking:
Our 6-way lead adjusts from 170–240cm and can be worn crossbody or around the waist, ideal for coffee runs, prams and jogging with dogs that already walk nicely.

For the complete setup:
A matching Walk Kit pairs the harness and lead for dual-point control and better value.

Dog Harness & Lead FAQ

Is a harness or a collar better for walking my dog?

For most dogs, a well-fitted harness is the better choice for walks. It spreads pressure across the chest instead of the throat, which matters for dogs that pull, lunge or have a flat face. Keep a collar on as well to carry your dog's ID and council registration tag.

Will a front-clip harness restrict my dog's shoulder movement?

Fit is what matters most. On a well-fitted Y-front harness, the chest strap sits on the breastbone and the straps run between the shoulders, not across them. Check that the straps don't sit over the shoulder joints and that your dog's stride looks natural. If the harness twists to one side when your dog pulls, try clipping to both the front and back rings at once.

Will a no-pull harness stop my dog pulling on its own?

No harness fixes pulling by itself. A front clip makes pulling less effective and gives you better steering, which makes loose-lead training much easier. Pair it with short, reward-based training sessions for lasting results.

How do I measure my dog for a harness?

Use a soft tape measure. Measure the neck girth around the base of the neck, then the chest girth around the widest part of the ribcage just behind the front legs. Compare both to the size chart. If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger size and adjust the straps down. You should be able to slide one finger flat under every strap.

How do I stop my dog backing out of a harness?

Most escapes happen when the harness is too loose or the wrong size. Re-check the fit before each walk, especially after a bath or a haircut. For known escape artists, add a second clip to a well-fitted collar for backup, and avoid letting the lead go slack and then suddenly tight while your dog is backing away.

Why is my dog's harness rubbing under the front legs?

Rubbing usually means the belly strap sits too far forward or the harness is too loose and sliding around. Adjust it so the belly strap sits a hand's width behind the front legs. Smooth, coated straps like ours don't hold grit and sand the way fabric does, but always check your dog's skin after long or wet walks.

Is a hands-free lead safe with a dog that pulls?

Hands-free walking is best for dogs that already walk calmly on a loose lead. With a strong puller or a reactive dog, use the handheld mode so you can react quickly and keep your balance. Our 6-way lead switches back to handheld in seconds.

What length dog lead should I choose?

For everyday walks, a lead of around 1.5–2m gives good control. Our adjustable lead goes from 170cm for footpaths and crossings to 240cm for parks and sniff breaks. Fixed-length leads also give you more consistent control than retractable leads, which can let a dog reach the road before you can react.

What's the difference between a waterproof coated lead and a nylon lead?

Nylon and fabric leads soak up water, mud and smells, take hours to dry and can fray over time. A PVC-coated lead stays dry, wipes clean in seconds and doesn't hold odours. Some people find coated leads a little slicker when wet, so hold the handle loop rather than the strap itself on rainy days.

Can I walk two dogs with one lead?

Yes. Our double-ended 6-way lead lets you clip a dog to each end. It works best for two dogs of similar size and energy that already walk well together. For dogs that pull or tangle, two separate leads give you more control.

Does my dog still need a collar with an ID tag?

Yes. Most Australian councils require dogs to be microchipped and registered, and many require the registration tag to be worn in public. Keep a collar on with your dog's ID and registration tag, and use the harness for walking.
