Measure first, then use these breeds as a rough guide:

How to Choose Your Size
Measure the girth and front chest of your dog. The girth measurement is the most important, while the front chest is secondary.
The chest and belly straps are fully adjustable to ensure a snug, comfortable fit. Do not over-tighten the straps, when fitted correctly, you should be able to comfortably slide one finger flat between the harness and your dog.
Note: Suggested breeds are provided as a general reference. To guarantee the best fit, we highly recommend measuring your dog's girth and front chest before selecting a size.

Frequently asked questions
Is this harness waterproof for beach swims and rainy walks?
Yes. The straps use a double-layer build, a strong polyester core sealed in a waterproof PVC coating, so water, mud and sand can't soak in. After saltwater, give the harness and hardware a quick rinse in fresh water and wipe it dry.
How many adjustment points does the harness have?
Two: the front chest strap and the belly strap. Adjust both so the harness sits snugly without pinching. You should be able to slide one finger flat under each strap.
Which size should I choose?
Measure your dog's girth (the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs) and front chest. Girth is the most important measurement. Sizes XS to L suit dogs from around 5kg to 30kg. If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger size.
Should I clip the lead to the front or the back ring?
Use the front chest D-ring for dogs that pull or are still learning loose-lead walking, as it gently turns them back towards you. Use the back D-ring for relaxed walks with dogs that already walk nicely. For extra control, clip a double-ended lead to both rings at once.
Will the harness restrict my dog's shoulder movement?
When fitted correctly, the chest strap sits on the breastbone and the straps stay clear of the shoulder joints, so your dog can move naturally. If you notice a shortened stride or the harness twisting to one side, re-adjust the straps or check the size.
Will it rub under my dog's front legs?
The belly strap is designed to sit a hand's width behind the front legs, away from the sensitive armpit area. The smooth PVC coating doesn't hold sand or grit like fabric does. If you notice redness, loosen the belly strap slightly or move it further back.
Can my dog escape from this harness?
No harness can be guaranteed escape-proof, but a correct fit makes a big difference. Check before every walk that your dog can't back out through the neck opening. For dogs with a history of escaping, add a backup clip to a well-fitted collar.
Can my dog wear the harness all day?
The harness is designed for walks and supervised outings. Take it off when your dog is resting at home, crated or left alone, so their skin and coat can breathe.
Will the hardware rust?
The D-rings and buckles are made from heavy-duty, rust-resistant zinc alloy designed for New Zealand coastal conditions. Rinsing off saltwater after beach walks will keep the hardware looking its best.
